Duke TIP at Appalachian State

Boone, North Carolina

Appalachian State University is the sixth-largest university in the University of North Carolina system and is home to almost 18,000 students. ASU has been among the top 15 “Southern Regional Universities” for over 30 years, and U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 college rankings placed the school ninth among public universities in the South. The Princeton Review also listed ASU as one of its “Best in the Southeast” for 2016. The university is located in the heart of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, a beautiful setting for Summer Studies and outdoor pursuits.

Duke TIP at Rollins College

Winter Park, Florida

Chartered in 1885 as a coeducational liberal-arts college, Rollins is the oldest recognized college in the state of Florida. For 20 consecutive years, it has been ranked among the top two regional universities in the South and first in Florida by U.S. News & World Report. Rollins College is located in Winter Park in an attractive and historic residential community adjacent to the city of Orlando. The 75-acre campus is situated on the shores of Lake Virginia and features a lakeside beach and walking path. Known for its Spanish-Mediterranean architecture, Rollins was named one of the “50 Most Amazing College Campuses” by The Best Colleges, from 2011 to 2014. Campus facilities include a four-level, 54,000-square-foot library and a fine arts museum with six display galleries.

Duke TIP at Texas Christian University

Fort Worth, Texas

Texas Christian University is a top-ranked national private university located in the heart of the nation’s thirteenth largest city, Fort Worth. Tucked in a tree-lined residential community, the liberal-arts college is known for academic excellence as well as its classical architecture and friendly vibe. The Princeton Review named TCU’s campus one of the most beautiful, and its residence halls the nation’s third best. Though Texas is in the school’s moniker, nearly 40 percent of undergraduates hail from outside the state. A combination of rigorous academics, personal attention and the thrill of Big 12 sports makes the Horned Frog experience truly unique.

Durham, North Carolina

Duke’s West Campus was built in the 1920s with funding donated by James B. Duke, and the university has since developed into a premier center of learning, medicine, and research. With its Gothic architecture, hand-carved moldings, and cutting-edge research facilities, West Campus offers an unforgettable learning environment.

Duke TIP at Duke University Marine Lab

Beaufort, North Carolina

The Duke University Marine Lab offers modern research facilities and vessels, weathered rustic charm, and captivating views of the surrounding channels, sandbars, and islands. The Marine Lab has a traditional camp atmosphere, and participants live in small bunkhouses with multiple bunks per room. Located on Pivers Island on the North Carolina coast, the Marine Lab provides an intimate setting for students interested in marine science.

Houston, Texas

Founded in 1912, Rice is located on a three-hundred-acre forested campus near the Houston Museum District. With an undergraduate enrollment of just under 3,900 and a student-to-faculty ratio of approximately 6-to-1, Rice University is consistently ranked among the nation’s top twenty universities by U.S. News & World Report. Its residential college system builds close-knit communities and lifelong friendships, earning a number one ranking for best quality of life by the Princeton Review.

Athens, Georgia

The University of Georgia is the oldest and largest higher education institution in Georgia. Bordering historic downtown Athens and home to over 36,000 graduate and undergraduate students, UGA is highly regarded for the breadth of its programs—25 baccalaureate degrees in more than 140 fields, 34 master’s degrees in 130 fields, 4 doctoral degrees in 98 areas, and 18 educational specialist degrees.
