When will I find out my application status?

  • We will email you your admissions status within two weeks of receiving your completed application and all necessary documentation. Please note that all program-related emails are sent to the primary parent email address entered on the student’s program application, not the email address used to create the student account (if they are different).

  • If you have not received an email notification within two weeks of submitting your student’s application, please sign into the student portal to see if your student has been placed.

If your student is placed

Once you’ve received notification that your student has been placed in a CRISIS course, you will need to access our student portal to:

  • See your student's course placement and financial aid award (if applicable).
  • Accept or decline your placement within a week of notification. You must pay the required deposit when accepting the placement.
  • Complete the required forms.
  • Pay program fees.
  • Access other important course and campus information (available in May).

Your student portal account is the same as your application account, so if you applied online, simply use the same login credentials to access the portal.

Once you’ve logged into your student portal account, click on your TIP ID number to access the forms and additional information or to make a payment. Remember that you will need to accept your student's placement and submit your enrollment deposit within one week of receiving your placement offer.

If you’re wait-listed

We receive more applications than we have spots for each year. For example, one research team received 299 applications across our five sites, but only 288 seats were available.

To give students an opportunity to attend if any admitted students withdraw, we maintain a wait-list for each research team. If your student is wait-listed:

  • Your student will be placed on the wait-list of every course ranked on the application.
  • We will place students on the wait-list until May 15; after that, the wait-list will be disbanded.
  • If another student withdraws before May 15 and we are able to offer your student a spot in a course, we will notify you.
  • Should your student be placed in a course, your student will be removed from all other wait-lists. Students cannot be placed in a course and on a wait-list at the same time.

Unfortunately, because it depends on factors out of our control, we cannot provide more specific information about how long your student might be wait-listed or how likely it is that you will be offered a placement. Those decisions are dependent on other students canceling.

Applicants are not assigned a wait-list number because there are separate wait-lists for each course. Students are placed on each wait-list by the date that the complete application is received. TIP uses a random number assigned to an application for the purposes of pulling students off wait-lists.
