Academic Adventures

About Academic Adventures

Academic Adventures provide gifted students with a flexible and challenging academic enrichment option on Saturdays during the traditional school year. These in-depth, daylong courses are designed especially for gifted students who want to explore exciting topics at an accelerated pace. Courses are taught by content experts and emphasize interactive learning and peer cooperation within an environment where creativity and critical thinking meet. Academic Adventures offered by Duke TIP take place in Charlotte, North Carolina; Durham, North Carolina; and Winter Park, Florida, in the spring and fall of each year. They also take place throughout the year at various partner locations across the country.

Eligibility

Duke TIP's Academic Adventures are open to all fourth, fifth, and sixth graders who are enrolled in TIP’s 4th–6th Grade Talent Search. However, fourth graders are only eligible for the spring term.
