Joining the 7th Grade Talent Search also opens pathways to TIP’s popular educational programs. These programs offer students a chance to work alongside their talented peers while taking accelerated courses on innovative subjects not found in most middle or high schools. Participation in a TIP talent search is a prerequisite for many of them.
Students must be participants of TIP to apply to both the Summer Studies Program, a three-week residential program providing advanced courses and beloved cocurricular programming, and eStudies, an innovative, seven-week online summer program for gifted students. (Both programs have ACT or SAT score requirements.) Additionally, we offer Scholar Weekends, which are weekend programs that take place during the academic year, and Field Studies, two-week residential summer programs that take place on US college campuses or at destination locations such as Costa Rica.
Students qualify for the 7th Grade Talent Search by scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. Enrollment provides benefits that last through the end of high school, including the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT, specialized publications, college prep advice, and access to educational programs.
