Gifted Today

Duke TIP’s Gifted Today blog is your go-to publication for research and research-based advice.

You’ll find articles on the practical issues that parents of academically gifted children often face, including how to advocate for your child, weigh different educational options, evaluate the usefulness of best practices, and address common social and emotional needs.

There is also more than a decade of articles from TIP’s researchers, whose work appears in leading academic journals, as well as reviews of other important findings in the field of gifted education.

In addition, there are resources to help you find contests, scholarships, and educational programs that are designed especially for high-achieving scholars.

Press release templates

You can use these press release templates to let local media know about your child’s achievement. There are separate templates for students who qualify for the 7th Grade Talent Search (DOCX), who qualify for a State Recognition Ceremony (DOCX), and who qualify for the Grand Recognition Ceremony (DOCX).

Students qualify for the 7th Grade Talent Search by scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. Enrollment provides benefits that last through the end of high school, including the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT, specialized publications, college prep advice, and access to educational programs.
