For Educators

Academically talented students provide educators with a special challenge: how do you engage and support a student who has already mastered grade-level material while still meeting the needs of other students?

That’s where we can help!

Duke TIP is a global leader in identifying academically talented students and providing them with innovative programming to support their development. You can see all we offer students and their families by reviewing the sections listed to the right, but we also want you to know that we can’t do any of this without your help. Duke TIP depends on educators like you to identify academically talented students who might benefit from our resources and to invite them to join our 7th Grade Talent Search. This means that you identify and notify students that they qualify to join the talent search. Later on, if you like, you can honor them for their academic achievements using our recognition resources. Duke TIP does the rest, including providing participating students with enrichment opportunities to supplement their classroom learning.

Learn more about your role and how to identify students, then find helpful tools to get started.

Students qualify for the 7th Grade Talent Search by scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. Enrollment provides benefits that last through the end of high school, including the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT, specialized publications, college prep advice, and access to educational programs.
