Educational Programs

Duke TIP’s renowned educational programs for younger students are only open to our 4th–6th Grade Talent Search participants, so access to these programs is a substantial benefit of the talent search. Each of our programs provides students with the chance to explore new topics alongside their peers in innovative and engaging ways.

Your educational program options include Academic Adventures, one-day programs with advanced courses on subjects not often taught in schools; eInvestigators, a month-long, interactive online program that encourages students to become research detectives and solve a real-world mystery; and CRISIS, a week-long, residential summer program for fifth and sixth graders that uses problem-based learning.

Our educational programs require additional fees, but we offer financial aid for all of them. Due to space limitations, admission is not guaranteed.

Rosetta Stone Foundations

4th–6th Grade Talent Search participants are also eligible to purchase Rosetta Stone Foundations, a special version of the language learning software only available through educational outlets, through Duke TIP, allowing them to learn on their own time, at their own pace.

Students qualify for the 4th–6th Grade Talent Search by achieving a score in the 95th percentile or higher on a qualifying exam. Once enrolled, for a onetime fee, they receive access to benefits until the end of sixth grade, including optional above-level testing; enrichment activities like the book club, writing and illustration contest, and specialized publications; and eligibility to apply to TIP’s educational programs.
