Duke TIP offers a variety of educational programs to students in grades five through twelve, each with its own age range and specialized learning approach. Each year, we hire staff for each of these programs.
Students attend one- or two-day advanced courses in the fall or spring, working with their gifted peers to explore academic interests in a brief but in-depth exploration of exciting subjects not found in typical schools.

Student grade level: 5–6 for Academic Adventures; 8–11 for Scholar Weekends
This week-long residential program uses a problem-based learning model: students collaborate to respond to a hypothetical community crisis, supporting each other in curricular and cocurricular growth.

eInvestigators is a month-long program for fifth and sixth graders that takes place throughout the year. Using leading edge instructional technology, participants collaborate with a small group of classmates and an expert Lead Investigator to collect clues, analyze evidence, and propose theories.

Within an engaging online learning environment, gifted students connect with one other and pursue advanced learning in exciting topics under the direction of an expert Instructor over the course of seven weeks.
Student grade level: 7–11
These two-week, hands-on academic experiences for older TIP students are led by field professionals in campus settings, on-site at research facilities, and selected locations abroad.

Intense, advanced level three-week summer courses designed to allow gifted students to study an area of interest in depth, balanced with vibrant cocurricular activities that together create a seamless and supportive learning environment.
