Academically talented students provide educators with a special challenge: how do you engage and support a student who has already mastered grade-level material while still meeting the needs of other students?
That’s where we can help!
Duke TIP is a global leader in identifying academically gifted students and providing them with innovative programming to support their development. You can see all we offer students and their families by reviewing the sections listed to the right, but we also want you to know that we can’t do any of this without your help. Duke TIP depends on educators like you to identify academically talented students who might benefit from our resources and to invite them to join our 4th–6th Grade Talent Search. This means that you identify and notify students that they qualify to join the Talent Search. Later on, if you like, you can honor them for their academic achievements using our recognition resources. Duke TIP does the rest, including providing participating students with enrichment opportunities to supplement their classroom learning.
Students qualify for the 4th–6th Grade Talent Search by achieving a score in the 95th percentile or higher on a qualifying exam. Once enrolled, for a onetime fee, they receive access to benefits until the end of sixth grade, including optional above-level testing; enrichment activities like the book club, writing and illustration contest, and specialized publications; and eligibility to apply to TIP’s educational programs.
