Field Studies

A group of students having a discussion in a desert setting

Field Studies offers you two-week employment opportunities to work with gifted students in a variety of settings, from university campuses to selected international sites. Field Studies courses serve students in grades nine through twelve with class sizes of approximately twenty-four that meet seven days a week for field work and instruction. Each field study is staffed by one Group Leader, one Instructor, and two Instructional Counselors.

Due to the intensive nature of each experience, all Field Studies staff members must work as a team on both the academic and residential aspects of the program. A few sites have multiple field studies in one location, and these may have a small administrative staff, including a site manager. Positions could entail working one course at a single site or two courses at different sites.

You should possess a genuine interest in the academic, social, and emotional growth of adolescents and exhibit maturity, a positive attitude, and a willingness to serve as a role model.
