The Duke TIP eStudies program offers you the opportunity to work with academically gifted students around the world within a virtual learning environment. eStudies offers you a seven-and-a-half week instructional period, preceded by a four month to six month development process to create a rigorous online summer course for gifted students in grades seven through eleven. eStudies is committed to connecting students with each other, connecting students with an Instructor, and connecting students with ideas in this highly engaging distance learning program.
You are responsible for developing, revising, and delivering appropriately challenging and engaging courses to students using Sakai and other instructional technology applications. eStudies provide asynchronous and synchronous interaction on a daily basis for gifted students and requires 25–30 hours per week during the 7-week summer term in response to 10–14 hours of student work per week. The summer term for 2019 will take place from June 6 to July 26. Successful applicants will possess a genuine interest in the academic, social, and emotional growth of adolescents and exhibit maturity, a positive attitude, and a willingness to serve as a role model.
