Director of Innovation, Integration, and Communications
Brian Cooper holds a BA in English and an MAT in secondary English education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He taught AP English literature and composition in Durham Public Schools for six years and was named Durham Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year in 2001. In 1997, he began his work with Duke TIP and has served in a variety of roles since, creating new distance-learning and face-to-face program models, managing face-to-face and online educational programming, and supporting the launch of TIP programming in India and China. He is passionate about developing and delivering innovative educational experiences that engage talented students and enable them to forge meaningful connections with their peers and with a dedicated teacher as they wrestle with big ideas and real-world problems.
