Who We Are
Identifying Talent and Challenging Young Minds
The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) is a global leader in gifted and talented
education. TIP works with academically gifted students, their parents, and educators from around the world to identify, recognize, challenge, engage, and help students reach their highest potential. Each year, we welcome international students from a variety of countries to our U.S. talent searches and summer programs. We are delighted to have them as part of our global TIP family.
Duke TIP in China
The summer of 2015 marks the opening of Duke TIP’s first summer program in China. Duke TIP will host a three-week residential program for academically gifted students at Duke Kunshan University in July and is working with select schools in China to identify qualified applicants. The program will be open to academically talented students in grades 8–10 and it will offer them a choice of in-depth study in Entrepreneurial Leadership, Engineering Problem Solving, or Cryptology and Number Theory.
Duke TIP in India
Since 2008, Duke TIP has identified and served gifted students in India through a talent search, educational programming, research, and educator training. In collaboration with our partners, Educational Initiatives, and Shiv Nadar University, Duke TIP offers exceptional educational opportunities to India’s most academically talented youth.
Top-performing students on an above-level ASSET test may attend residential summer programs in India or the United States, or take online eStudies courses. Almost 9,000 students have participated in our talent search and more than 600 students in our programming in India.
