Who We Are
Identifying Talent and Challenging Young Minds
The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) is a global leader in gifted and talented education. TIP works with academically gifted students, their parents, and educators from around the world to identify, recognize, challenge, engage, and help students reach their highest potential. Each year, we welcome international students from a variety of countries to our U.S. talent searches and summer programs. We are delighted to have them as part of our global TIP family.
Duke TIP in China
The summer of 2015 marked the opening of Duke TIP’s first summer program in China. Duke TIP hosted a three-week residential program for academically gifted students at Duke Kunshan University in July after working with select schools in China to identify qualified applicants.
Duke TIP in China is open to academically talented students in grades 8–10 and offers them a choice of in-depth study in classes such as Entrepreneurial Leadership, Engineering Problem Solving, or Cryptology and Number Theory.
Duke TIP in India
Since 2008, almost 9,000 students from India have participated in our talent search and 800 students in our summer programming. Top-performing students in India may join our Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search through TIP Option, and if they qualify, are eligible to attend one of our renowed summer programs—intensive three-week sessions on U.S. college campuses—or our popular eStudies program that offers challenging coursework without ever leaving home.
