Academic Year Programs

During the school year, Duke TIP offers programs and tools of all types to enrich and accelerate gifted students’ education. Depending on a student’s grade level, learning style and subject-matter interest, one or more of the following programs may be of interest.

Talent Search

Our two Talent Searches identify academically talented 4th/ 5th graders and 7th graders and provide resources and encouragement to enhance their educational development. Eligibility for enrollment is an honor and indicates outstanding intellectual ability.  Learn more »

Independent Learning

Duke TIP’s Independent Learning Program offers students in grades 4–10 an opportunity to pursue engaging accelerated or enrichment studies anytime, anywhere. Independent Learning materials work well at home or at school as differentiated instructional options. Learn more »

e-Studies

Duke TIP’s e-Studies Program is an exciting distance-learning opportunity for students in grades 8–12. Students connect with other gifted students and with a TIP instructor as they pursue advanced high-school and college-level coursework online.  Learn more »

Scholar Weekends

Duke TIP Scholar Weekends provide opportunities for academically talented students in grades 8–11 to take weekend-long courses at Duke University and other sites. Learn more »
